Active Access: Opening Music-Making Through Technology. Workshop led by composer Ben Lunn (Scotland)

The master class will take place on April 14 from 11:30 - 13:00 at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, Kr.Barona Street 1, room 231. Admission is free, the workshop is open to anyone interested.

The rapid evolution of digital technology has transformed access to music-making, creating new possibilities for artists who have historically been excluded. In Active Access, composer Ben Lunn introduces audiences to the theoretical context behind accessible music technologies, explores a range of digital instruments developed in this field, and reflects on the future potential of inclusive creative practice. The workshop concludes by considering how composers can actively engage with and contribute to this expanding area of work.

New Music Exchange aims to enhance equity in contemporary music through a partnership between Share Music and Performing Arts, Drake Music Scotland, the Council of Nordic Composers and the Baltic Contemporary Music Network.
